I really need to start posting these more frequently, since they keep piling up. Anyway, TV reaction post, drama/comedy edition:

Gossip Girl )

Greek )

Grey's Anatomy )

How I Met Your Mother )

The Office )
amathela: (Default)
1) I'm ridiculously behind on my TV viewing, but brief reactions from the past week or so:

90210 )

Friday Night Lights )

Greek )

Grey's Anatomy )

Heroes )

The Office )

Private Practice )

Smallville )

2) Caught up on watching The Office, and, ♥. I do love Jim and Pam, but I've fallen completely head over heels for Ryan/Kelly. I just - I really don't know. But they are currently one of my very favourite ships, and I love them to death. Season five spoilers + speculation )

3) [livejournal.com profile] remixthedrabble is currently open for sign ups! Sign up to be a remixee (to have your fics remixed) here, or to be a remixer (to remix someone else's fics) here, or both. I'm really looking forward to it, especially because, even though I have a million things to do at the moment, it's only a drabble or ficlet. Plus, remixes!

4) Trying to get as much as I can done before November (I'll be in New Zealand for a week to visit my mum, and then in Byron Bay for my dad's wedding), and work out what I can do now vs what I can take with me to do while I'm over there. Also, I'm finally writing stuff again, even if so far it's mainly ficlets/drabbles - I have my Sweet Charity fic to work on, plus a bunch of belated gift fics and a couple of late ficathon entries, but right now, I'm kind of zen about it; I know I'll finish what I have to, but I'm not giving myself a hard time about working on other things instead. Because, really, fandom is supposed to be fun, and if I start stressing I'm more likely to burn myself out than anything else. So, happy place.

5) I wrote fic!

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (High School Musical RPF - Vanessa Hudgens/Ashley Tisdale - PG-13 - 193 words) Ashley's half sitting on her lap when her hand kind of slips and they laugh and then, there's kissing.

Culturally Explicit (The Office RPF - B.J. Novak/Mindy Kaling - PG-13 - 322 words) It's not like he hasn't met her parents before. Spoilers up to episode 3:6 - Diwali.

Jellicious (The Office - Ryan/Kelly - PG - 200 words) Usually, Ryan's pretty good at tuning Kelly out.

Quabity Assuance (The Office - Creed, Kelly - PG - 140 words) "You're in charge of quality assurance."

1) Sweet Charity bidding has officially begun! I've offered to write fic, which you can bid on here (I'm listed as Zhailei, at the bottom of the page), or check out some of the other awesome goodies offered. For more details about what I'm offering, or if you have any questions, see here.

Unfortunately, I've already been outbid for the things I wanted, but maybe I'll get lucky and find something I can still afford. (If I'm being completely honest, I can't really afford to bid on anything, but it's for charity.)

2) Belated episode reactions for last week:

Grey's Anatomy )

Smallville )

Stargate Atlantis )

3) Finished watching Burn Notice, and I'm totally in love. I can't wait for it to come back!

4) Yes, I have started watching Prison Break. I'm still on season one (also known as the non-crack, non-Mahone season), but I'm really liking it so far. YES, I HAVE BEEN SUCKED INTO THE FANDOM. I have absolutely no willpower, okay?

We all have them, right? Those pairings we love, or maybe are just a little interested in, but which - for whatever reason - simply aren't popular. Maybe it interferes with a fandom's OTP, maybe it features one or more minor characters, maybe it's a het pairing in a primarily slash fandom (or vice versa). Maybe it's completely cracktastic - the two characters have never actually met in fandom, or there's no good reason to ship them other than just because. Or maybe the pairing is actually canon, but is pretty much loathed (or simply ignored) by fandom in general. And sometimes you just wish someone would come along and say, "Hey, I can write that for you!"

Well, why don't we give it a shot? Comment here with any or all of your favourite unpopular pairings, in any fandom you like, and see if maybe there's somebody out there who will write it. Check out other peoples' wish lists, and if there's a fandom you're familiar with, and a pairing you're not completely opposed to, have a go at it. It can be comment!fic, a snippet, whatever - but come give it a shot, try something new, and help spread the love of unconventional pairings.

[What qualifies as an unpopular pairing? As a general rule, if you couldn't compile a rec list without a) including every fic you've ever read, or b) at all, it probably belongs here.]

Fandoms currently represented: Farscape, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Roswell, Sports Night, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, The West Wing, Veronica Mars, Wonderfalls.

Everybody seems to have already posted theirs, and I keep looking at my calendar, thinking ... but there's still four days left in 2007, I can write fic in four days. Which I did. But now the year is officially over, so here is my end-of-year fic roundup post.

When I am king )

Also: my shiny new header and icons, made just for me by [livejournal.com profile] azngal_icons!! I now have Ben and Claudia John and Aeryn on my livejournal, which is just so much awesome. <3 <3

If you're reading this, you've probably been assigned my request in one of the fic exchanges I'm currently participating in - [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa, [livejournal.com profile] elite_ggxchange, and [livejournal.com profile] prettylightsfic. If so, hi, and thank you; I'm sure I'll adore whatever you end up writing for me, but if you're looking for a little more guidance, or something to get you started, here are some additional notes about my requests (completely optional, naturally).

My irrationally bad mood is over, yay. Although, it's 4am and I've been up for about five hours, so when I say my sleeping patterns are screwed up, I mean they're nonexistent.

Jeremy and I went to the Melbourne show last weekend, though, which was a lot of fun. We went on rides (including the spinny swingy ride, which I love), got showbags, saw baby animals, ate awesomely disgusting food, and won stuffed animals - I got a lizard called Mohinder, which is way cute.

I really have to start writing again - fanfic and original fiction. I have a (thankfully short) half-finished Gilmore Girls WIP sitting on my fic journal, which I feel massively guilty about, considering the first (and only other) WIP I've ever done had 18 chapters posted start to finish within about three weeks. Oops. And I never got around to posting my [livejournal.com profile] femgenficathon fic, even though it was finished months ago, because I wrote it out longhand and still haven't typed it up. Double Oops.

Possible mild spoilers about current season TV )

Also, my internets are broken, which makes me sad/frustrated.
