Okay, since everyone else is meta-ing:
Battlestar Galactica: 4-16 Deadlock
I didn't really like this episode. Not because it was a bad episode, but because, like quite a few people have said, it felt very waffly and meandering and filler-ish, which, with only four episodes to go, I'm not really sure the show can afford. But, anyway.
The Good
Tyrol/Boomer! Okay, I'm a latecomer to this ship (like, I started shipping it last week). Whatever. Tyrol greeting her (and recognising her!) was hot and awesome, and if I'm a little disappointed that she was sent straight to the brig, at least I'm mostly sure she isn't just going to stay there and not be heard from for the rest of the series. (Mostly sure, because with this show, you never know.)
Sam has brainwaves! Hopefully they're regular brainwaves, not WTF is Sam now? brainwaves, but still ... yay? Yay!
Also, Ellen's arrival on Galactica was an awesome tribute to her first appearance, though it gave me unfortunately high hopes for the rest of the episode.
The Bad
Like Racetrack and the mutiny, I'm slightly unconvinced by Tyrol's decision to leave on the basestar. More than anything else, it seemed like lazy writing - they needed to have a 2-2 vote with Ellen breaking the tie, and instead of asking 'how would Tyrol vote?' they asked 'can we make him vote to leave?' Which, yes, you can, but those two things are two very different questions. It's possible to make sense of Tyrol's decision, but his motivation isn't immediately apparent, and you have to do a little selective twisting of his previous characterisation in order to get there.
The WTF
I'm really not sure what the point of the whole Tigh/Caprica baby storyline was, but I swear its resolution was:
TIGH: I love you.
CAPRICA: *is happy*
BABY: *is alive*
ELLEN: I'm leaving on the basestar so you two can be a real family.
TIGH [thinking]: Wow, Ellen's so wonderful and amazing. Isn't she fantastic? I love her.
BABY: *is dead*
So, um, I guess when they said that love was necessary for Cylon reproduction, they really weren't kidding. That's a little ... literal. Well, let's hope for Hera's sake that Helo and Athena never get divorced.

LOL I never liked Boomer, so I started shipping them only a week before you. ;)
I get Racetrack more than Tyrol. She's always been a Cylon hater. The only way I could explain Tyrol's vote is that seeing Boomer triggered something but I just don't buy it AT ALL. After Tigh, he is probably the most loyal to Galactica, so it shocked me.
Well, let's hope for Hera's sake that Helo and Athena never get divorced. LMAO So true. The baby thing had me kind of confused, too, although at that point I was too sad to care.

Racetrack was odd to me only because she seemed so accepting of Athena, once she returned to/joined the fleet. Like, it's very possible for her actions to make sense, but they're not the actions that would seem immediately right or obvious to me, if that makes sense.

It does make sense. I guess you could say the same thing for all the crew, except Gaeta.

(Like, requiring monogamous love to create a child is one level of whatever, but the baby was already created. I'm beginning to think

Maybe Flipper died because when 2 Cylons get together, they both have to be totally in love 100% of the time, but with Hera it's okay because she has 1 Cylon and 1 Human parent, so that Human part keeps her from dying when Helo and Sharon have an argument?
Okay, yeah. I got nothin'.

And, yeah, I don't even know. Like, maybe it's a good thing the episode was kind of boring, because when you actually start thinking about it, it just turns into a big old mess.

really really stupidspiritual sense you can think the lack of Tigh's OTP love caused it, but scientifically she probably lost it because Cylons have always had trouble bringing children to term.no subject
