Five Things That Never Happened To Malcolm Reynolds

1) Alliance recruiters weren't exactly welcome when they came. Mal ignored them as well as anyone else, for a time, but eventually, he let curiosity get the better of him, and he let a man buy him a drink.

He got his uniform the next day.

2) He didn't feel the bullet when it came. Didn't feel much of anything; the 82nd weren't coming, and that was about all he had room for.

Beside him, Bendis didn't blink as he fell.

3) Sometimes, he wondered what would have happened if he hadn't been injured in the war. If he still had two good legs, and no Alliance pension for fighting against them. Wondered if he'd have kept in touch with Zoe; if he'd be happy, if he'd be married, if he'd still be fighting. But only sometimes.

4) "Still don't reckon it was right," Zoe said, some time later. "Leavin' them there on the planet like that."

Mal shrugged. He didn't quite meet her eyes as he spoke. "Girl was a liability," he said. "Got no reason to get the Alliance on our backs."

He didn't have to look at her to see her expression. "Even so."

5) "Wait."

Even saying that much was enough, and he didn't have it in him to say more. So he didn't speak; but when he pulled back, arms still gripping her, her lips were flushed red, and he thought, for once, he had managed to surprise her.

After a minute, she smiled, and he found himself echoing her expression. She ran a hand up his arm, and she didn't have to say she was staying.

LOL Logan.

And I'm so excited about your birthday! How awesome. :D

Is there anything we could do for you? I'm not really into much fandoms other than VM... :(

I do like Mohinder/Slyar on Heroes...hmmm.

That's okay! Well wishes are more than enough :D

(Although, if you wanted to write an AU "five times" Logan never met/fell in love with Veronica ...)

Three Facts About Logan Echolls

1) He always wished, just once, he could have hit Aaron back. Right in the middle of filming; or better yet, before a big premiere.

2) The only reason he didn't wasn't fear of his dad, and it wasn't forgiveness. But his mom didn't need to deal with that, too.

3) After Lilly's death, he hated Veronica for all the ways she reminded him of Lilly. Later, he loved her for all the ways she didn't.

Teyla?

A Reason Teyla Is Awesome

Because she's hot as hell, and it isn't a weapon in her arsenal. Because she can kick John's ass seven ways from Sunday, and she can hold her own against Ronon. Because she's comfortable with bantos rods or a P-90. Because she isn't The Chick, and she isn't The Love Interest. Because she was the leader of her people, and she never forgot that. Because she understands geometry. Because she's intelligent, and diplomatic, and she gets people - even Rodney. Because she's woefully underappreciated. Because I can't stick to just one reason.

*smooches*

I don't suppose you'd care to elaborate this into an essay for the 12 Days? :)

Five People Sharon Never Fell In Love With

1) "It will happen if God wills it."

"It should happen because of biology," she snaps at Leoben. She pulls away when he reaches for her, slipping her shirt back on.

"Maybe it's love," he says quietly, more intimately than she would have liked, and she turns away. "Maybe that's the necessary part."

"I don't love you."

His voice is bitter as he answers her. "I know."

2) "Do you remember that time we went to the bar on Gemenon?"

Sharon looks at Kara, curiosity mixed with hope and nostalgia. When had Kara decided they were her memories to share?

"I remember," she says simply.

"Do you remember the guy you met there - oh, what was his name?"

"Jason." She smiles. "His name was Jason."

"He was so into you."

She nods, once, at the memory of a man she'd almost forgotten. "I know."

3) She isn't sure if it counts - she has always known it didn't happen, but she has memories of it all the same. His name was Max, and when she was six, he stole her lunch. Years later, he tried to ask her out, and she said no.

With a smile on his face, he told her he was sorry. She said she knew, and walked away.

She was a stubborn child.

4) His hand curls around her neck, and she gasps, taking a last, choking breath. When the air is almost gone from her lungs, he releases her, and she slumps against the wall, raising her fingers to the bruises below her jaw.

She has memories of the way Lee looked to Boomer the day he arrived on Galactica. None of that shine remains on the man who looks at her now, hatred and desperation and fear - not all for her - burning in his eyes.

"I don't trust you," he says, and she says nothing until he's gone. She knows.

5) "Do you ..."

The Chief doesn't finish the sentence, but she knows how it ends. He doesn't visit often, and she doesn't pretend not to understand why, even if it hurts to see him regard her as a stranger, if no longer a machine.

"She did," she says, and she's not sure if the distinction makes any sense, but he nods.

"Yeah, I know."
