Dear yuletide writer:

Thank you so much for writing me a fic! I'm sure it's going to be amazing, and I'm so looking forward to reading it. My requests are a little on the wordy side, but please don't let that intimidate you - if my optional details don't work for you, or if you already have an idea in mind, I'd much rather get a great story you're really excited about than something mediocre tailored exactly to my requests. But just in case you enjoy reading yuletide letters as much as I enjoy writing them, here are some ideas/extra information/things that would make me especially happy.

I love banter, unresolved (and resolved) sexual tension, romantic comedy, awesome plots, action/adventure, wacky hijinks, humour, crack, PWPs, apocafic, and ridiculous AUs. In general, I'm not super into angst. I really, really, love tropes and clichés, which I know is unhelpfully vague, but: If you're ever wondering, does she want fic with pretending to be a couple/forced proximity/sharing a bed/bachelor auction/truth or dare/accidental makeouts/insert ridiculous cliché here, the answer is yes, yes I do. I love first times, and secret relationships, and casual hookups, and ex-girlfriends and boyfriends, and rekindling old relationships. I love people being in love without having to say it; and people who are obviously in love but maybe don't realise it; and ridiculously overblown romantic gestures where one person completely embarrasses themselves, because that's kind of the point of the grand gesture; and tiny, unnoticeable gestures that mean a whole lot more than they seem to. The stuff I don't love pretty much boils down to making the characters I love unhappy for no good reason. And character bashing, even of characters I don't like. I'm happy to read any rating, and smut is welcome but absolutely not necessary.


Hart of Dixie (Wade Kinsella/Zoe Hart)

Wade and Zoe. The show is seriously killing me here. I started shipping it when they made out in Wade's car, because that was pretty much perfect, and that's what I'd love from this - basically, makeouts. Makeouts in Wade's car, in the trailer, in Zoe's room, at the bar, at her office, in the pond, literally rolling in the hay - just, all the makeouts. Things other than makeouts are good too, including but not limited to: That time Wade pretended to be Zoe's boyfriend, that time there was a heat wave and they almost had sex and then she went skinny dipping, that time she deliberately blew out the fuse as code for sex, all the times Wade looks like he really wants to kiss her, all the times he's there for her without her even noticing, and all the times he looks at her like he has genuine ~feelings here and she's completely oblivious. Maybe there's a way to make her less oblivious?

ALL THE MAKEOUTS.

Okay, on the off-chance that isn't actually helpful: I wasn't expecting to ship this, and then I did, pretty much the first time they interacted. And I really wasn't expecting to seriously ship it, and then Zoe got drunk on boxed wine and there were makeouts, and I was hooked. What drew me to the pairing was the way he immediately called her out on her shit, which is a thing I think she needs sometimes. I also like the way he's a genuinely decent guy, which is maybe not obvious from first glance, and it's also not something he particularly advertises, which is maybe why Zoe still seems to think of him as this backwater hick. Well, that and her issues.

I really, really love all the things this show could be (which, in my ideal reality, is 90% Gilmore Girls, 10% Everwood), and I'd love fic that fleshes that out a little more, if you're that way inclined - more eccentric townies, small town customs, wacky hijinks, and maybe Zoe actually starting to settle into Bluebell (even despite herself). Supporting characters are great, especially Lemon and Lavon; I kind of find George ridiculously boring, but I don't hate him - mostly, I just think everybody else has more interesting relationships. And Burt Reynolds is more than welcome to make a reappearance.


Miss Match (Kate Fox)*

I love this fandom, and I would love any kind of fic written for it - gen or shippy, drama, comedy, crack, crossover, AU, whatever. As far as pairings go, Adam/Kate is my favourite; I'd love to see fic where he keeps pursuing her, and where she (reluctantly) falls for him, but obviously that's just one of the many things I would love. (Other things I love: hanging out at the bar, Kate in matchmaking mode, first dates, blind dates, not-a-date dates, anything and everything where characters interact with each other. I'm fairly easy to please.) I also ship Michael/Kate and Nick/Victoria as well as Kate/Victoria (femslashy or as BFF), and if there are other ships you enjoy, go for it; the only thing I'm not really looking for in this fandom is boyslash. Anything in the style of the show is great, as is anything not in the style of the show; really, anything at all would be fantastic.

This is one of my favourite fandoms that nobody but me loves, so really, it would be pretty much impossible to go wrong writing fic for it. I once posted a fandom primer that mentions a bit about what I love about the show, which is, basically, all of the characters, all of the relationships, the fact that every episode contains its very own miniature romantic comedy, and, well, everything else. Basically, I just really love Miss Match a lot. Kate and Victoria are my absolute favourites, but really, I love every character (and just to clarify my request a little - I'm happy to read boyslash if you wanted to include Kate matchmaking original or crossover characters, but I'm not interested in reading it in regard to the canon characters). I'd particularly love anything in the style of the show - that is to say, something romantic comedy-ish - but I'd be just as happy to read something plotty, or dramatic, or smutty, or anything else you could possibly write. Episode-style fic where Kate tries to match up a couple or two? Post-series fic where Kate chooses between Adam and Michael - or doesn't? Smutty missing scene between Nick and Victoria? Plotty court case? Complicated love triangle? Snarky genfic? Something else, featuring any of the characters mentioned above? It's all good!

Crossovers are more than welcome here (though, ideally, I'd prefer it were with a fandom I'm familiar with - you can check my profile, journal, or tag list, or ask the mods to pass along a question if you're unsure). The Clueless fan in me would particularly love a crossover with Franklin & Bash (maybe Kate and Jared went to high school together??? and/or they meet on a divorce case?), and I've always really wanted a Psych crossover where blah blah blah legal stuff, and maybe Kate sets up Gus with ALL THE LADIES (or possibly with Shawn). Obviously those are really specific examples and I don't expect you to write them; I feel like a lot of shows, especially ones that are somehow about the law (or matchmaking), could make a good fit.

*I would have requested 'Any' if it were still allowed - I picked Kate because she's my favourite, but don't feel like you absolutely have to include her if your story goes in a different direction. And I love Michael even though he wouldn't fit on the nomination form, so consider him fair game if you like.


The Office (US) RPF (B.J. Novak/Mindy Kaling)

Things I love about B.J. and Mindy: The fact that Mindy Kaling is the most awesome person in the world. The fact that they have the best witty banter ever. The fact that they dated. The fact that B.J. is still totally in love with her. (Okay, so maybe some of these aren't actual facts, but you get the picture.) Also, this video clip where B.J. tells Mindy he loves her, and it sounds like it's supposed to be a joke, except it didn't quite get there. And Subtle Sexuality. And everything about Ryan and Kelly ever, especially when they're written by B.J. and Mindy. Really, I would love anything you could write about these two - like, about writing for the show, or secretly (or not-so-secretly) dating, or B.J. secretly (or not-so-secretly) pining, or the Epic Romance Of Awesome Between B.J. And Mindy, or, really, anything at all, because I love these two so much, so, surprise me!

Basically: B.J. and Mindy are awesome, The End. If you like working with prompts, I would absolutely die to read some romantic comedy or courtship fic - like, where one person kind of pursues the other, and there are various complications and then everything works out okay in the end, because I'm totally a sucker for that kind of thing. And I'm pretty much convinced that they're in love (because, seriously, who wouldn't love Mindy Kaling?), but as long as the fic has B.J. and Mindy being awesome together, I'm happy.

I'd also really love something dealing with Mindy's new book, especially after he came to her book signing (and then, I'm assuming, they made out). Also, the chapter on B.J. that was edited out of the book: ?????


Victorious (Beck Oliver/Jade West)

Jade and Beck's relationship is, hands down, my favourite thing about the show. I love the way he keeps her in line, and the way he actually makes her happy, and I really love the way he looks at her - like he's not sure why because she's mostly super crazy, but he absolutely adores her. I'm more than happy for other characters to appear (well, okay, I'd really rather Trina was kept to a bare minimum), and I'd be just as happy to get an ensemble fic with a Beck/Jade focus. I'm really not looking for angst here - something fun and slightly ridiculous in the style of the show would be amazing - and please, please don't break them up, but you can background their relationship if you really don't feel like you can write it well. Mostly, I feel like their relationship is super adorable and actually workable despite the surface dysfunction, and I'd love something in that vein.

More things I really love about Jade and Beck: Youtube videos! There are a bunch of them, and they're all super amazing, like their video profiles, and drive-by acting exercises, and Beck and Jade's relationship advice. There are other videos up at The Slap, too, in case that's something you're interested in.

Also, nothing can convince me they aren't kinky in private. Like, sometimes when Jade's being especially caustic, Beck will just give her this ~look that pretty much screams 'you are so going to be punished later.' Which is maybe half the reason she does it. YMMV, and I'm not explicitly asking for smut (though I'm fine with it); it's just kind of how I see their relationship. OT3s are fine too, mostly because Jade reads as really gay to me a lot of the time, so if you wanted to write a threesome here - say, with Cat or Tori or, hear me out here, Beck/Jade/Ke$ha** - I would also be totally into that, especially if it had Jade as the fulcrum.

**Note: I am totally serious about the Ke$ha thing, this is something I legitimately want. Because I actually like Ke$ha, IDEK, and then there was a whole episode about getting Ke$ha to perform a private concert in Tori's house and some line about Trina trying to show her around upstairs? And I just thought, Jade (and Beck) could show her around upstairs, Tori has things in her room. So, there's that. If anybody actually writes this for me, I feel like we should be soulmates.


I SO WANTED TO REQUEST NEW GIRL BUT I COULDN'T BEAR TO LET GO OF ANY OF MY OTHER FANDOMS, BASICALLY MY REQUEST WOULD HAVE BEEN I WANT ALL THE GUYS TO BE ON TEAM JESS, P.S. THEY ARE HER BOYFRIENDS.
