2011 in review

Snagged from pretty much everybody, here's my fandom year in review!

Which TV shows did you start watching in 2011?
I actually kept a list of this! Is that weird? But it is a RIDICULOUSLY SUPER LONG LIST, so I'll stick to some of the highlights - Almost Heroes, Big Time Rush, Everwood(!), Game of Thrones, The Guild, Happy Endings, Hart of Dixie, Lost Girl, Misfits, New Girl, Nikita, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Rookie Blue, Secret Circle, Star Trek: The Next Generation(!!), Young Justice.

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?
Fairly Legal (I wanted to love it - Sarah Shahi! Michael Trucco! - but I just found it kind of boring). Ringer (ditto). I tried the US version of Skins and hated it, except for Tea, who I want to keep. Glee. Maybe Hawaii Five-0 - I really don't care very much about it, but, Grace Park, so it's hard to let go.

Your main fandom of the year?
Insofar as I actually had one, Rookie Blue.

Your favorite film watched this year?
Avalon High! <3 <3 <3

Your favorite book read this year?
I really, really loved Divergent. Considering last year's answer was The Hunger Games, I guess that makes two years in a row for dystopian YA?

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Wonder Woman sucking and not being picked up. Charlie's Angels sucking and being cancelled. 17th Precinct not being picked up. Chloe King being cancelled. Sonny With a Chance ending with a whimper. A Memory of Light being pushed back to next year.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Getting into comics in a major way - I particularly loved Astonishing X-Men, Wonder Woman, and early Ultimates. Dany being even more awesome in Game of Thrones than I hoped. Recent casting spoilers for Hart of Dixie. Old casting spoilers for One Tree Hill. Festivids.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
Haven. I still haven't watched past the first few episodes of Fringe. Avatar: The Last Airbender. I'm still not up to date with The Vampire Diaries (will I ever be?).

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?
I watched the pilot of The Borgias and really liked it, so I'd like to finish that. More Star Trek, probably. Babylon 5. Original flavour BSG, mostly for vidding purposes. I'd still like to get into Fringe and Haven.

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?
This is going to be such an unpopular opinion, but maybe Once Upon a Time? It's pretty and interesting and I love a lot of things about it, I'm just having a really hard time actually connecting with it.

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?
Maybe Once Upon a Time. But I am actually really terrible at letting go of shows, especially if I've watched more than a season or so of it, so. I may have to make an effort to do that a little more.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?
Happy Endings, Parks & Recreation, New Girl (which I wasn't sure I'd like, but actually found really delightful), Nikita, Revenge, Young Justice, Rookie Blue. In terms of shows I fell in love with regardless of actual quality - Hart of Dixie, Big Time Rush, Victorious.

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
Haha, most of them? Maybe Hart of Dixie - like, it is still not actually good, but I love it the most, and as long as it keeps giving me Zoe/Wade - or. let's be honest, just Rachel Bilson's face in general - I'll probably keep watching.
