January fic roundup

Kind of a slow month - posted four fics in three fandoms (One Tree Hill, Stargate Atlantis, and Firefly RPF).

One Tree Hill

Almost Rhymes With Orange (Brooke/Haley - PG-13 - 200 words) It isn't always a good idea to distract Brooke Davis (and sometimes, it's a very good idea).

Written for [livejournal.com profile] femslash100, even though I didn't get to post it in time. I don't know if it's actually possible to write PWP without the sex, but if it is, that's probably what this is. But I really love Brooke/Haley, and I like fluff, so it's all good.

Stargate Atlantis

In The Company Of Pretty Girls (Lorne/Teyla - PG - 2264 words) Lorne and Teyla are trapped together in a strange room in Atlantis, and Lorne's not holding his breath for Rodney to free them.

Written for [livejournal.com profile] tielan's awesome 12 Days Of Teyla celebration over at [livejournal.com profile] teylafen. The masterlist is here, and there were some awesome works produced.

Quicksand (John/Teyla - PG-13 - 2246 words) "Waded through mud. Found primitive people who worship mud. Spent fruitless hours trying to negotiate for mud weapons before nearly being killed. Returned empty-handed and covered in mud."

Written for [livejournal.com profile] roguish_angel for [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa Somehow, I managed to write 2000 words about mud - literally. The word "mud" occurs 25 times, "muddy" once, plus another four times in the summary, which is a quote pulled from the fic. A must-read for everyone interested in mud (and if you're not a fan of mud, don't worry; it isn't pro-mud).

Real Person Fic

The Girl In The Box (Sean Maher/Summer Glau - PG-13 - 1485 words) She could swear Joss was doing it on purpose. In which Nathan gets drunk, Joss thinks he's funny, and River is pregnant. Sort of.

Written or [livejournal.com profile] alixtii for [livejournal.com profile] prettylightsfic. My very first (completed) RPF; the original idea was far crackier, but it was a lot of fun to write. So I guess I've officially come over to the dark side, but I'm okay with that.
