OMG NEW BATTLESTAR GALACTICA IT'S NEW IT'S HERE OMG!!!
Battlestar Galactica: 4-11 Sometimes A Great Notion
WHAT THE FRAK IS GOING ON???
Okay, now that my initial reaction is out of the way:
Dee! Oh, Dee. The minute they were on the raptor on the way back to Galactica, it was obvious she was going to kill herself. And even more so in the aftermath of the date. "I just want to hang on to this feeling as long as possible." Oh ...
I loved her date with Lee, but I couldn't help thinking that if this was what they'd shown us THREE YEARS AGO - no stepping out on Billy, no sudden relationship, no out of the blue marriage, but actual chemistry between them - I would have been totally on board with Lee/Dualla. And it makes me sad, because it was possible to make me love them, but I didn't. And I'm really, really sad she's dead. But at the same time, I liked the buildup to her suicide, the kind of inevitability of it all. And Lee, who was maybe finally coming to his senses about her.
Speaking of, PRESIDENT LEE! This is second on my wishlist of things for the final episodes. You know you want it, too.
First on my wishlist, of course, is Boomer. Having her still exist at all would be a start. Some kind of reparations for - or even acknowledgement of - the way she was treated (by the characters, and by the writers), especially given that Tigh and Tyrol both went through the same thing and weren't vilified for it, would be fantastic. Not having her make out with skeezy Cavil would make me not want to gouge my own eyes out. And actually giving her some version of a happy ending - coming to terms with her identity, with the people she once loved and was a part of, and being, I don't know, completely frakking awesome? Would make me forgive anything else this show wants to throw at me.
And third, if you know me at all, is Helo/Athena. Any Helo/Athena at all. BECAUSE OMG HOW FREAKING ADORABLE WERE THEY IN THIS EPISODE? With Hera! And sneaking off to totally have sex! OTP ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
So, anyway, back to the episode: I loved Adama's "I don't frakking know." The botched kind of Cylon stand off between him and Tigh. D'ANNA :( :(
When Tory said "you played it for all of us," was she talking about the final four, or all the women he loved? HOT UNCLE COOPER, YOU LADIES' MAN.
And, Ellen Tigh is the final Cylon? Maybe? Unless the final Cylon is everyone? I kind of like her better as a human - something about the tragedy of Tigh killing her (and at the urging of Anders, no less) - but mostly, I just wanted the "reveal" upfront rather than waiting until the end of the series. And I'm totally open to them doing something really cool with it.
Lastly, what the frak is up with Kara? Time travel? Cylonicity? Ghostliness? Goddesshood? Leoben backing off when she talked about being the harbinger of death was THE FUNNIEST THING EVER, OMG. 'I was wrong, I was wrong about everything, just don't hurt me, please, can I go now?' I heart you, Leoben.
