Fandom squeeage

Newest fandom obsession: Gilmore Girls. I'm halfway through season 2 at the moment, and ... wow. How did this show exist for seven years without me caring about it? I have so much lost time to make up for.

I'm now having totally cracky crossover fic bunnies for a Heroes/Gilmore Girls crossover; Nathan/Lorelai, probably Jess/Claire. It's begging me to write it, as if I didn't already have enough things I'm not writing. I really need to get back into my fic-writing routine; as glad as I am that I've finally moved, I hate that it's thrown me out of the habit. And this is really tempting ...

(OT: Why does yet another of my OTPs involve the female lead not liking the ship/getting along with the male lead? Ironically, that, more than anything, is what would probably push me over into the dark side of RPF; apparently I don't like my ships to come easy. At least I'm a born multishipper, and god, this show is absolutely perfect for that. I really need to watch all seven seasons.)

I discovered GG last summer and absolutely raced through the first six seasons in time to watch the seventh on TV. Great show and very addictive.

Absolutely. I spent two days streaming the first season; Jeremy bought the second season on DVD while I slept, which I've now watched nonstop to episode 15 (and am still going; I anticipate watching the entire season without stopping except for minimal food and bathroom breaks, and can only hope to get season 3 before I run out of episodes).

Seasons 2 and 3 of GG in particular are awesome, and Jess/Rory is my favourite tv ship ever! I'm up to S6 at the moment, and as soon as I've finished, I'm going back to S2 and watching from Jess' arrival again.

Nathan/Lorelai would be really interesting - I think he likes women he can shut up a bit more easily though. I've always liked the idea of Jess/Claire and Rory/Peter crossover fics, but I think that's because they still get Milo - just with a different name...

Yeah, I have no idea where Nathan/Lorelai came from, but I haven't slept a lot, and I've had a lot of caffeine. Still, I'm pretty sure it's never been done before, and I do like the idea, however odd.

(I know exactly where Jess/Claire comes from, though - because, come on, Hayden Panettiere and young Milo Ventimiglia would look so cute together. And the characters would actually be around the same age, depending on how far you screw with the timeline, and not related, which is a plus for some people.)

I just finished S2 (22 episodes watched today and counting; my boyfriend just walked in the door with S3, and it's only 7pm, so yay!), and guh, this show is breaking my heart. Jess/Rory is very awesome, though.

You must be exhausted! I watched the final 8 or so Heroes over two nights and it completely drained me! I don't think I could do it with Gilmore Girls, especially the ones you're watching, as I get kind of stupid when I watch Rory and Jess together on account of all the crying and the heart breaking...

Apparently, I'm a tank when it comes to fandom. I'm currently on episode 28 (and I'm pretty sure I've forgotten what "sleep" means), though I usually go through a full episode run in about two days. I have absolutely no idea how I'll cope in a few months when I'm actually in active fandoms, and have to stick to one episode a week.

(And btw, I love your icon :D)

I usually have to stop myself watching too many at once, as I don't want to run out of episodes, and I like trying to pace myself. As you say it makes it that much harder watching shows in real time otherwise.

Thanks - it doesn't matter how many times I watch the icon, it always makes me laugh! In fact I was just looking at and laughing so hard, that my work colleague now thinks I'm completely insane! :)

Ooh. No. You need to watch seasons 1 through 5. And the first eight episodes of S6. Then get the heck out of dodge. GG was my first fandom, and the one I was most in love with. And even considering that, I couldn't tolerate the last 3/4 of S6 and all of S7. Especially S7. AS-P quit at the end of S6, and Rosenthal, who took over, didn't do a very good job, IMO.

It's a great show, but it'll break your heart, quality-wise, for the last two seasons. Leave at 6.08, if you want to love the show. I wish I had.

Yeah, I finished season 6, and it definitely wasn't as good as earlier seasons; I'm about halfway through season 7, and putting off watching the rest, because if I never watch the rest, it never has to end (and it can end any way I like).

*sigh* I'm getting sad just thinking about it... The stupid, stupid, Chris stunt in S7...

I miss Jess.
