Festivids 2011
Dear festividder,
Thank you so much for making a vid for me, I'm sure it will be amazing. If you already have an idea in mind - go with it! I would really love any kind of vid in any of these fandoms, so don't let any of my requests restrict you - they're there to be helpful if you want them and ignored if you don't. (And if you do find requests useful: I tend to go on a bit, so, yay?)
Things I love: Ensemble vids. character studies. Fun shippy vids. Vids that highlight some of my favourite things about the source. Vids that point out something I never noticed in the source. Vids that give me chills. Vids that make me cry. Vids that make me laugh. Vids that make me clap my hands in glee. Vids that use music I love, and music that's completely new to me, and music that obviously goes with that source, and that I never would have through to pair with the source but works surprisingly well. Basically - I really love vids.
Things I don't love is a much shorter list - basically, total AUs with really complicated storylines and slow, sappy romantic vids with too many effects and not enough movement. But really, what I want most is for you to have fun with this, so: Do what makes you happy, and I'm sure I'll love the finished product! And in case you aren't sick of me yet, my requests are under the cut, along with a few more details.

Avalon High
Details: I love this movie, probably an unhealthy amount. And I'd be thrilled with any kind of vid - something fun that highlighted the ridiculous Disney aspects, a serious character study, a more thematic vid that examines how the movie fits into Arthurian mythology, anything at all.
BRITT ROBERTSON AND HER FACE <3 <3 <3, basically. I love her a lot. I love crappy Disney Channel movies (though I maintain this one isn't actually crappy), and I really, really love the whole genderbent aspect. Girls in armour = all my kinks, apparently. I also have a huge thing for remixes of mythology, fairy tales, etc. in general, so - I guess what I'm saying is that there are a lot of reasons I love this movie, so a vid about anything at all would seriously make me the super happiest.
Better Off Ted
Details: I would love something fun and slightly ridiculous for this, because the show is, well, fun and slightly ridiculous. I adore Veronica the most, and I'm quite into Ted/Veronica, but I'd be happy with anything from a character/relationship study to a full-blown ensemble vid, because everything about this show is pretty amazing.
This show! I still mourn its passing, but that's what vids are for, right? I love everything about it, but mostly I love how ridiculous-slash-amazing it is. This is the only fandom I requested two years in a row, so here's what I said last year, in case it helps: Veronica is my favourite, but I love absolutely everybody. I would particularly love something about Veronica, Ted/Veronica, or the ensemble (with generous Lem and Phil!) - maybe something about how working for Veridian is absolutely ridiculous, but hey, at least it's never boring?
Dragon Wars: D-War
Details: Firstly: If you have actually seen this movie (and liked it enough to want to make a vid), I think I love you. Secondly: Crack, please? As long as it's not a 100% serious vid (just a pinch of crack would be fine), I'd be thrilled with anything.
Okay, so, it's probably fairly obvious that I don't take this movie seriously at all? (If you've ever seen it, you will understand this.) This super amazing picspam sums up pretty much all my feelings about D-War (WHICH, REALLY: IT IS CALLED D-WAR), which basically boil down to IT IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS EVER AND I <3 IT. (Also, if you've never seen it, YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS MOVIE. But check out the picspam first.)
Make It Or Break It
Details: Payson is my absolute favourite, so I would love a vid with lots of her in it - a character vid, or something shippy (Sasha/Payson or Kelly/Payson would be my preference), or something ensemble-y with lots of gymnastics and general teen drama, whatever.
In case it isn't obvious: I really love Payson. She's pretty much the reason I watch the show - well, that and the gymnastics and the sparkly costumes and the ridiculous teen drama and the fact that it's a show all about girls. This is really the only fandom where I'm at all picky - I really, really would like something where Payson is the focus (even if it's only part of the focus, like in an ensemble vid). Exception: I would actually also love a vid about Lauren, I find her really interesting (and mostly sympathetic, despite herbest worst efforts).
The Nine Lives Of Chloe King
Details: Okay, confession time: I have actually only seen the pilot episode, but obviously I really liked it? And I don't mind being spoiled/I will probably catch up way before vids go live, so don't worry about spoilers; basically, I love Chloe, I loved the way her first reaction to having superpowers was genuine excitement, and I'd love any kind of vid - feel free to surprise me!
So, bad idea to request a show where I've only seen the pilot, or BEST IDEA? I'm going with best idea, mainly because: The premise of the show appeals to me a lot (like a YA version of Dark Angel, which, what's not to love about that?); I found Chloe really endearing; and judging from the pilot, it seemed like some interesting vids could be made - it's got action, mythology, plot arcs, romance, backstory, awesome superhero girls - vid me any of that, or all of it, or none of it, and I'll dig the hell out of it.
Rookie Blue
Details: I'd love something a little action-y for this - I'd prefer an ensemble type vid to a focused character/relationship study (unless it's at all about Gail, who is my favourite <3), but other than that, I pretty much love everybody, so do what you will.
This show is my newest fandom obsession, so you can pretty much do no wrong here. Unlike 99% of fandom, I'm not actually all about Sam/Andy, which is unfortunate, because they make up about 99% of existing vids. But you could give me anything else in the world - a fun ensemble vid, something fast and action-y, a vid about how amazing Oliver is, anything featuring Gail Peck ever - and I would love it to pieces.
Starship Troopers
Details: I love how this movie can't decide if it wants to be a big dumb action movie or a political satire, and I love how it comes out more than a little ridiculous, and I love how it's awesome all the same. I would really love something that reflects that and is maybe not entirely serious, but a vid that actually takes the movie seriously could be really awesome, too. So basically feel free to do whatever you'd like, because I'd really love anything. (Also: I am maybe the only person who does not hate Denise Richards' character, just FYI.)
Anything. Just - anything. The amount of love I have for this movie surprises me every time I watch it, so, yeah. Action, satire, political commentary, character study - you could vid me anything at all and it would be amazing <3.
Wizards Of Waverly Place
Details: I really, really love just about everything about this show. I love Alex, and the relationship between her and Justin (romantic or not, depending on if that's your thing - it's mine, but this is definitely a case of YMMV), and Max, who I find consistently delightful, and pretty much every single supporting character ever, so - I would love anything ever, using the show and/or movie, because it's basically my favourite.
This show is one of my favourites ever, and not in an ironic way because it's on Disney Channel. (Which - given some of my other requests, may be obvious?) I don't think there's a single recurring character I haven't found 100% delightful (okay, no, I lie: I do not love TJ), so you could do anything with this and I'd love it forever. Some of my favourite things: The relationship between Justin and Alex, however you choose to view it; ridiculous magical hijinks; the way Alex accidentally saves the world, like, a lot; the way the whole wizard competition in the movie is basically one giant metaphor about - well, it's probably something dirty; MAX!!!
