So, that unpopular opinions meme:

01. Post this on your journal.
02. Your friends will comment with some of your fandoms and/or characters from said fandoms.
03. In a new post (or in comments) respond back with one or two of your unpopular opinions for that fandom and/or characters from said fandoms.

So, you know where to find my fandoms, right? (Here.) Sometimes, I'm not entirely sure what the popular fandom opinions are, but I'll do my best ;)

Elizabeth:

I'm not a fan. And I've tried really, really hard. I briefly loved her in Letters From Pegasus, but that's about the closest I got. I think Torri Higginson is a beautiful, vibrant woman, but that gets lost somewhere between her and Elizabeth, and I'm really never sure what she's going for with the character - calm, competent leader? Someone who's been thrust way in over her head, and is just trying to stay afloat? Professional woman who can hold her own against the boys' club? Casual, inappropriately flirtatious colleague? Granted, a lot of that is the writers' fault, but the flirting thing in particular throws me off - it isn't how I see the character, but it seems to be how Torri Higginson does.

Teyla:

As far as unpopular opinions go, I suppose it's fairly uncommon for Teyla to be a favourite character. And as much as I love every aspect of her character, and the way that she's a lot more layered than people suspect, the first thing that drew me to her was that she's a smoking hot, kickass fighter chick; for a lot of people, that seems to be a reason (or an excuse) to be turned off the character, to claim her as two-dimensional and stereotyped, but it's the thing that resonates most strongly for me.

Your opinion of Teyla pretty much exactly matches mine. I'm fonder of Elizabeth, although I'll agree that probably the time I liked her best was in Letters From Pegasus, and that the flirtatiousness is one of the most irking things about the character - particularly if she was ever to be taken seriously in "a man's world".
