Happy IDF: Vid Recs
Technically it's no longer International Day of Femslash over here, but it probably is somewhere in the world, so I figure I can still do all the things I meant to post yesterday.
First up, vid recs!
Every You Every Me (Battlestar Galactica, Roslin/Starbuck) by
tallulah71.
tallulah71 is one of my favourite BSG vidders, and Every You Every Me is no exception. The vid is gorgeous and sexy as hell, and is definitely at the forefront of BSG femslash vids.
Hera Has Six Mommies (Battlestar Galactica, Ensemble) by
tallulah71. Is there anyone who hasn't seen this vid yet? If not, you should run to download it - it's amazing, and complex, and provides a fascinating alternative viewpoint on the series.
cyborganize, who requested the vid, calls it a slash ensemble vid rather than a traditional pairing vid, which is a great way of looking at it, and I really can't recommend it highly enough.
Superstar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy/Faith) by
heresluck. Superstar is one of my favourite vids, period, from one of my favourite vidders, and is an excellent Faith character study as well as being a fascinating look at her relationship with Buffy. And, of course, like so many others on this list, the vid is technically brilliant.
Volcano Girls (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy/Faith) by
dualbunny. I couldn't decide which of the two was my favourite Buffy/Faith vid, so I'm reccing both. Like Superstar, I love the editing in this vid, and I love the song.
Cry Me A River (Lost and Delirious, Paulie/Victoria) by
charmax. I saw this vid before I ever watched the film (it had Piper Perabo and lesbians - I was sold), and I tracked down the film almost immediately after I finished. Whether or not you've seen Lost and Delirious, I'd definitely recommend watching the vid, not least because it has actual lesbians in it.
The Test (Torchwood, Gwen/Tosh) by
sapote3. I love Gwen/Tosh, and I was always disappointed that they never really went there in the show - but now we have this vid, so it's all good. Lacking decent femslahy source, the vid works with parallels and metaphors, and the result is excellent.
I'm Your Man (Multifandom) by
charmax. Created for International Day of Femslash, I'm Your Man bills itself as "a celebration of media clichés," and it's a fantastic feel-good vid from a great vidder.
Naturally, these are only some of the many excellent femslash vids out there. If you have some favourites I haven't included, by all means, drop me a link - I'm always looking for more good femslash.
