I thought she was an actress

I really need to start posting these more frequently, since they keep piling up. Anyway, TV reaction post, drama/comedy edition:

Gossip Girl: 2-7 Chuck In Real Life

I was expecting some sort of twist (or at least some self-awareness) in the whole Dangerous Liaisons setup, especially after Gossip Girl's comment, but no such luck. Some points for not having Chuck inexplicably fall for Vanessa, though I liked that she was able to throw him off balance a little, and that he took the insight he gained from that encounter and applied it to his relationship with Blair. And, OMG, Chuck asking Blair to say "I love you" - oh, Chuck. Losing Nate really threw him, huh? Interesting to see if Blair actually does pursue him now, or if she waits for him to change his mind. I actually wouldn't mind seeing her give chase; she's been kept on the back foot by too many people for too long this season, I think, so I'd like to see her engaged in a "game" where she's calling the shots.

Greek: 2-9 Three's Company

I enjoyed the second half of the episode a lot better than the first; I'm not really a fan of all the awkwardness and petty rivalry, but it was so worth it to see the characters actually dealing with their problems, and the ending! "We can be Angelina Jolie." Every time I think Greek is going in a direction I'm not toally on board with, it turns around and says exactly what I've been thinking - last week, when I was getting sick of all the cattiness between Casey and Frannie, only to have it come back and bite both of them on the ass, and this week, when I spent most of the episode wondering why ZBZ needed Omega Chi to tell them they were cool, when obviously they were totally awesome all on their own, only to have Ashleigh say the exact same thing. Needless to say, I am totally on board with her presidency - even more than I was last week, if that's possible. Seriously, Ashleigh, how are you so awesome?

Other stuff: Calvin/Heath! Yay!! Oh, I ship them so much. No Max, which was sad but forgivable. And - Hell Week! Oh, hell yes. Bring. It. On. I cannot wait for next week.

Grey's Anatomy: 5-5 There's No 'I' In Team

ALEX/IZZIE ASFDFGHJKL!! Kevin McKidd is back, and Alex/Izzie is happening, and ... I stopped loving this show a long time ago, but this season might actually make me like it again. Alex/Izzie!!

(Also, I'm not quite loving the way Callie had to be "taught" by Sloan to have sex with Erica, but at least the lesbians actually had lesbian sex? IDK. I totally agree with Sloan - less talking, more kissing, please.)

How I Met Your Mother: 4-5 Shelter Island

Did I jinx it? I think I jinxed it. Well, you could see that coming a mile away, though I liked the way it was done. Poor Ted, he really should have listened. I'm glad Robin's back so quickly, and, oh, Barney. But, hey, Daneel Harris! And, seriously, the whiteboard - best thing ever, y/y?

The Office: 5-4 Crime Aid

Much more ensemble-y this week, but still a bit too focused on Michael and his assorted relationship shenanigans for my taste; I find Michael/Holly charming in small doses, but I can't help feeling a little relieved that David Wallace's talking head at the end means it might be ending soon.

On a different note, did Angela seriously just choose Andy? Because as much as I once loved Dwight/Angela, I would be totally on board with that; at this point, both Dwight and Angela (though I still love her) have behaved atrociously, so I pretty much just want Andy to be happy - I'm still not convinced he and Angela will have a happy ending, but the show could surprise me.

Still no Ryan or Kelly, which I'm really hoping will change soon. The season started out so strongly with their storyline in Weight Loss, and I'll be really disappointed if it isn't picked back up; I'm hoping, once the Michael/Holly thing is no longer taking centre stage, that we'll have a lot more time again for the supporting cast, and that we'll get at least some Ryan/Kelly scenes. Pretty please?

I was happy to see Roy at the end; I always had a soft spot for him, particularly in season three. I really don't think Jim has any cause to worry, but seeing Roy mess with him a little was still funny. I think I'll just be really, really happy when Pam's three-month course is finished (which should be soon, given that she started it towards the beginning of the summer) and she can come home.

Also, I really love Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration.
