I love a sunburnt country

You know what I love about Australia? I love that we have a morning sound.

I'm not sure what kind of bird it is. I should know; my dad would know, if I asked him. I think I will, the next time I call him. But I know the sound they make, and I know they make it in the morning. That sound, when I get up early, is the "oh god, it's way too early to be awake" sound; when I stay up late, it's the "oh shit, I really should be getting to bed" sound. It always comes before dawn. (It's currently 5:30am, and late rather than early.)

I love that sound.

I love my country.

Is it the Kookaburra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kookaburra)? When i went to Australia for 3 weeks a few years ago they used to wake us up all the time.

Nope, it's definitely not the Kookaburra. They make a very distinctive sound, and this very definitely isn't it. (Love the totally appropriate icon, though :D)

It's a magpie. It's always a magpie.

Hi! I'm a new Puff over at h_e. You liked my application (here (http://community.livejournal.com/sorting_elite/554747.html#cutid1)) and seem like a nice person to watch. So I hope that's ok :)
