Festivids recs
I have not watched ALL the vids, because that would be insane (there are 174 vids!), but I did watch a lot, and they are all awesome. Since (unfortunately) I can't rec every single vid, here are a few of my very favourites:
Her Name Is Alice (Alice) - Awesome Alice character study.
November Rain (Blade Runner) - This vid is fantastic - creepy and awesome and critical and utterly engaging.
Space Oddity (Community) - I think this may be the most perfect vid I have ever seen. Three and a half minutes of TROY + ABED = PURE JOY.
There Is A Boy Who Never Goes Out (Dead Like Me) - Mason, in all his adorable, fucked-up glory. Awesome character vid.
Black Horse and the Cherry Tree (Dead Like Me) - Another amazing character vid, this time about Daisy. Lovely and tragic.
Witchy Woman (Eastwick) - Awesome vid about Kat, Roxie, and Joanna - three very awesome women.
Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts (The Fall) - Simply fantastic. I've never seen the movie, but this makes me think I'll definitely have to.
Bleed It Out (Generation Kill) - Great character vid focused on Brad.
Walk The Walk (Hackers) - Fun, fast-paced vid. Cue the nostalgia!
Still Alive (Heathers) - Fantastic song choice. Funny, morbid, and awesome. Just like the movie :)
Pump It! (The Losers) - Fun, action-y ensemble vid.
Missundaztood (Lost In Austen) - A Wickham vid! Lost In Austen has my favourite incarnation of Wickham, and this vid is a fantastic showcase.
Samsa Morning (Lost In Austen) - Awesome Amanda character study-slash-series overview.
Let It Be (Mad Men) - Don and Peggy, moving and gorgeous and just - amazing, really.
Threnody (Nikita) - Gorgeous Alex and Nikita vid.
Don't Walk Away (Psych) Shawn/Gus! This is the Shawn/Gus vid of my HEART, with 80's music and Shawn's face and Gus being oblivious and the fact that it is 100% adorable.
Untitled (Pulp Fiction) - Epic. The end.
Inoyodo (Riverworld) - Another canon I haven't seen, but a beautiful, striking vid.
All Star (Sanctuary) - Henry character study. Awesome. (Henry! ♥)
Teenage Dirtbag (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) - This is the year of perfect song choices, I think. Absolutely fantastic.
Make It Pop (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) - More of a general ensemble vid than the last one, and equally excellent.
Bare Your Teeth (Snow White: A Tale Of Terror) - A Snow White vid! Creepy and awesome, with a focus on Claudia. I love this vid so much.
L.E.S. Artistes (Terminator Movies) - Fantastic look at Sarah and the sacrifices she's made.
this town's religion (Top Gun) - Fantastic outsider POV, and I love the song choice.
Paper covers rock (The West Wing) - Hoynes! A Hoynes vid! A really good Hoynes vid, to boot, all of which means I could not love it more.
