Determinate: It's like, get determined

Still can't write anything, ugh. So in a total surprise move for me, I've been watching a bunch of DCOMs. (I know, right? You're all so shocked.)

First I watched Big Time Movie. Which, I know, is Nickelodeon and therefore not actually a DCOM, whatever, it's the same thing in spirit. ALSO IT WAS ONLY LIKE AN HOUR LONG, WHAT. But it was still pretty amazing, THE BOYS ARE SPIES AND THEY RUN AROUND WEARING TUXEDOS AND SINGING BEATLES SONGS, P.S. TAHMOH PENIKETT WAS IN IT ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ WHY DOES NOBODY TELL ME THESE THINGS. Also, Kendall wears all the plaid ever, even his backpack is plaid and it is a plot point, I love these stupid boys and their stupid faces.

Although, seriously, do not try [personal profile] metaphasia's drinking game (drink every time someone says "world") unless maybe you're drinking beer or wine or cider, basically it's totally deadly especially if you play all your drinking games with cocktails. (That makes them classy drinking games.)

And then I watched Geek Charming, which actually was totally charming, ie. better than most DCOMs and pretty much every adult rom-com I've seen recently. THEY TOTALLY BECOME FRIENDS FIRST, IT'S PRETTY GREAT.

Last I watched Lemonade Mouth, seriously, how did it take me so long to see this? Because it was my favourite DCOM in a long, long time. (Like, not more favourite than Avalon High, because that is my very favourite ever, or Princess Protection Program, because that's basically just Demi and Selena: The Love Story which makes it super amazing for always, but maybe my favourite after that.) I shipped Charlie/Mo from the very first scene in detention, and then when he did the wipeout thing after seeing her in the car I was so hooked, BUT I ALSO REALLY LIKED THE WAY THE STORY PLAYED OUT AND BASICALLY IT GAVE ME SO MANY FEELINGS, like how how in the future Charlie is the new hot teen idol or whatever and he goes through girls like they have an expiration date but he'll just never, ever stop being in love with Mo (and that was before the coda, which basically outright said P.S. HE'LL NEVER STOP BEING IN LOVE WITH MO ♥ ♥ ♥), and how she and whatever her boyfriend's name is are like this perfect rock couple but it's just a thing, Charlie's in love with her (and maybe she'll always be a little bit in love with him, because she can't not know and she can't just feel nothing), and it's this kind of forever OT3 situation, YOU GUYS KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THOSE, HINT: I KIND OF LIKE THEM. And then there's the few months where she and Stella hook up, that's kind of a transitional period for everybody.

I still need to rewatch Princess Protection Program and then write ALL THE THINGS, this is going to happen.

I TRIED TO WARN YOU THAT GAME WAS DANGEROUS. I am glad I started watching BTR, because yes, totally awesome, but now I've got the We Can Work It Out sequence stuck in my head for like three days now. I'm liking the series though, very much. THANKS FOR THE NEW ADDICTION.

I only half saw Geek Charming, but I liked how they actually gave Dylan a good motivation for how she acted, and not just UGH how Disney usually makes the popular kids evil. It was totally the best DCOM, at least recently (although I still like a lot of the older ones). I was pretty disappointed in the new one though, Radio Rebel. Just, ugh. It felt like everyone was walking around with an idiot ball permanently fixed to their forehead.

I've been procrastinating my writing with watching Life With Derek and reading fic for it (I AM NOT HAVING WIZARDS WITHDRAWAL, NUH UH). I dunno, something about people living in the same house, maybe, I kind of like? Also, the way they bicker all the time. UGH, time to go back to not writing now.

I AM SHOCKED AT YOUR TASTE. I was never really into the series before, but I needed the fix after Wizards went off the air.

YES. Total agreement on the Geek Charming. I like the multi dimensional characters, and the fact that they showed an actual progression from "don't even notice each other" to "can't see anything past the hearts in their eyes". Who knew that putting an actual character development arc into a movie would work?

I'm not sure what it is about BTR that's so awesome either, but I think it might be the total zaniness of their antics. Also, Katie. COMPETENCE IS AWESOME AND MORE PEOPLE SHOULD BE COMPETENT ON TELEVISION. Also, the fact that she and Kendall have an actual sibling relationship, WHO KNEW DISNEY AND NICKELODEON WERE CAPABLE OF PORTRAYING SUCH A THING?
