Fanfiction schmanfiction

heroes_bigboom fic. Not at all. And it in no way slipped my mind that first drafts are due in less than three weeks. I'm completely on top of it.
(I really should be working on it, though.)
But, first I have to write my Gilmore Girls WIP, which is so much fun. I'd completely forgotten how much I enjoyed working on a long fic; What Goes Down was my first series, and most of my fics are fairly short - I think around half of what I've written is under 1000 words. But I so love getting pulled into a world of my own, with its plot and relationships and everything else that comes with it. So, I suppose that's good, because once I've finished this, it shouldn't be too hard to really get into my Heroes fic. And I tend to write pretty quickly, so getting it done in time won't be a problem, provided I do actually sit down to write it.
Also, I created a new fanfic community:
fic_episodes
The basic premise is that you claim a set number of episodes within a fandom - a season, the entire series, episodes with a certain character, a plot arc, or anything else you like. And then you write one fic for each episode, somehow relating to that episode; missing scenes, prequels/sequels, alternate versions, picking up on something mentioned within the show and running with it, etc. I'm quite looking forward to it; I think it'll be fun, and like pretty much every other community I start, I created because I wanted to do it, which is probably a good start. And if it's fun for other people, too, so much the better :)
