OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I GOT FOUR YULETIDE FICS. FOUR. It's kind of hilarious, because last year I wrote, like, eight fics, and then this year I wrote my assignment and a pinch hit and no treats at all (though I am writing something that might go in the madness collection if I can finish it in time I HOPE SO BECAUSE THERE'S A BIT THAT'S KIND OF YULETIDE SPECIFIC - in an already super dated way - but oh well, I'll just NYR it if not), and this is the year I get ALL THE FIC.

But I'm so not complaining because SOMEBODY WROTE ME AVALON HIGH FIC AGAIN. It's the second Avalon High fic I've gotten in exchanges this year, which means there are now approximately 200% more Avalon High fics in the universe than there were last year. (When I went looking on AO3 for fic, IIRC there was exactly one non-crossover fic and it didn't even have Allie in it, WHAT IS EVEN UP WITH THAT.) Chances of me continuing to request it in every exchange ever in the hopes of building an actual fandom: Super high.

Also! Somebody wrote me the Bruce/Steph dirtybadwrong fic I've been requesting only roughly forever and it's SO GREAT I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU. And then I also got a super fun Dick/Steph fic AND and adorable Steph & Cass fic, WHAT DID I EVEN DO TO DESERVE THIS BECAUSE I WILL DO IT AGAIN.

yuletide, you guys! SOMEBODY WROTE ME BJ/MINDY, OBVIOUSLY IT IS PRETTY AMAZING. On December 17th You Tell The Truth, which is BJ/Mindy and EVERYONE and parties at Steve's house and it is such a rom-com, basically everything I asked for and it's so delightful.

Also, I got a TOTALLY UNEXPECTED madness fic, so now my Yuletide is doubly amazing! everyone knows is an adorable Hart of Dixie ficlet, Zoe/Wade and Lavon being awesome, PLUS LOTS OF MAKEOUTS, DID I MENTION THE THEME THIS YEAR WAS ME GETTING EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR?

I only wrote one fic this year, mostly because I went away for Christmas (and am now back, obviously), but you can try to guess it and I will write you something? I'm not sure anyone will, mostly because I don't think many people are going to read it, but as long as my recipient enjoys it I am totally okay with that!

Speaking of awesome stuff I got, talumin made me an awesome vid for my birthday a few weeks ago which I shockingly haven't posted about yet! It's called Our House of Bluth, and it's an amazing Arrested Development ensemble vid, IF YOU LIKE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT AT ALL YOU REALLY HAVE TO SEE IT, IT IS SUPER DELIGHTFULLY BEST.

I think I'm going to have to do a picspam: Payson Keeler, Look At Her Face, She Is Adorable. Or maybe: You Should Ship Sasha/Payson, The Subtext (And, Occasionally, Maintext) Commands You. And somebody should be making Make It or Break It vids, there is lots of flipping and stuff, it could be cool? And there should be more than, like, a dozen Sasha/Payson fics out there, maybe I should fix that? But, in the meantime, a couple of recs:

Going For The Gold by monimala (Sasha/Payson, PG-13) Sasha is wooing Payson. Payson is dating Sasha. Where do they go from here? Adorable post-"What Are You Made Of" fic, where Sasha realises that, hey, maybe taking a girl to a romantic night out at the ballet is kind of like dating her.

Not Just Yet, But Almost by JenniferCarolyn (Sasha/Payson, PG-13, some outtakes rated R) They stayed late at the gym one night, perfecting Payson's new floor routine, but a small celebratory kiss begins to mean so much more. Their chemistry is undeniable and it's only their circumstances that keep them apart. This is a WIP, and usually I don't even read those until they're finished, but this one is so worth it. It's all about Sasha and Payson and their ~secret relationship, and it's wonderful.

You guys, how much do I love the yuletide fic that was written for me? A LOT, THAT'S HOW MUCH.


She's The Man, Too (She's The Man, Olivia/Viola) When you spend so long faking it, how do you know what you really want?


It's sweet and uncertain and full of longing, with crossdressing and queerness and gender and identity fucked-upness, and girls who are really, really into other girls, which might be my favourite thing ever. And I love the ending, where things are really complicated and really simple all at the same time, and mostly, I just really love that somebody wrote me Olivia/Viola fic, because they are the best ever.

I wrote four fics for yuletide this year (including one in the Yuletide Madness collection, which has yet to be revealed), so if anyone wants to take a shot at guessing any of them, comments are screened. If you guess right, I'll write you a fic of your choosing (or something else, if you prefer), and if you manage to guess all of them ... um, I'll write you a really long fic?

I think I just inadvertently created the best pairing ever: Graham/Nandi (BtVS/Firefly). Y/Y?

Okay, maybe I'm the only one who loves Graham an unreasonable amount. But it's Julie freaking Cooper, okay? She is never not awesome.

I've been loving writing lately. It's amazing what the lack of, say, five or six looming deadlines can do. But I got about 2000 words written today, which I'm very happy with. (Don't look at me like that. Of course it was what I was meant to be writing. Not something totally unrelated. Not at all.)

Second Skin, by anonymous. Lovely and thoughtful are not words that are usually associated with kink memes, but this fic is. It has porn, sure, but mostly it's about Kirk and McCoy's friendship, and especially about what happens when Kirk, after an alien device transforms him into a woman, decides to stay that way. I don't read a lot of genderswap fics, and even fewer that deal with trans issues, but this is fantastic.

A Shocking Turn Of Events, by cordelianne. The Bridge Crew gets a dose of truth pollen. Jim thinks it's awesome. No one else agrees. Except possibly Bones. aka. My current favourite thing ever! I laughed all the way through this, and honestly, I'd start quoting my favourite bits, but that would be all of it, and I don't want to spoil reading it for you. Just ... if you love the Enterprise team at all, and/or wacky mishaps involving alien life forms, you have to read this.

prettylightsfic stories went up a few days ago (author reveals are on the 6th), and I received an awesome fic:

Gilmore Girls RPF! Yay! There are a lot of really great fics in the archive this year, but here are a couple more I really enjoyed:
