So you quote love unquote me
Oct. 8th, 2009 04:34 amSo, The Shake Up is up to 2000 words, and ...
It's not like I ever intended it to be particularly angsty (mostly, it's just not my default mode), but I'm a little concerned that it's becoming humourous bordering on cracky. Apparently, this is what my version of Justin having a mental breakdown looks like?
(I think I've discovered the secret, though. If you have Justin and Alex both freaking out, or if you have one of them freaking out without input from the other, it tends towards angst. But if you have one of them freaking out while the other is apparently completely unaffected, it becomes a comedy. It's all about misdirection; instead of focusing on the fact that Justin is actually semi-seriously freaking out, the story starts being about the juxtaposition of his freak out vs Alex's non freak out, which is a whole different narrative that conveniently sidesteps the angst.)
When I was doing my round up of stuff I should be working on, I completely forgot about
spook_me, which. I will probably still do? Inconveniently, my prompts totally inspired me to write David/Selena RPF, which is not allowed. But I may yet be inspired to write Wizards of Waverly Place fic, which would be good. (Halloween-themed WOWP fic ideas, anyone? ;) )
Also:

It's awesome. Do it. It runs until October 11th, and I'll have to try to write something for it before then. (Last time, I ended up writing Legend of the Seeker fic, which was a lot of fun.)
It's cold here. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be spring. And our heater is broken, boo.
