I can't believe your level of jealousy
Oct. 28th, 2009 12:16 amOkay, so. HYPOTHETICALLY, IF I WERE WATCHING JONAS, these would be my thoughts.
I find it kind of charming, IDEK, WHATEVER. And I like the parallels I can draw with Wizards Of Waverly Place. Like, the way there are these three siblings, who pretend to be normal, but aren't really - there's the goofy one, and the smart, serious one, and the middle child, who's the cool one. And the way the goofy one is a little bit on the outside of the relationship the cool one and the serious one have with each other. And there's their dad, who is semi-involved in their not-quite-normal life, but not immediately a part of it. And their mom, who just wants them all to be normal.
I also like the way Joe/Stella reminds me of Justin/Alex, a little, at least in the first few episodes. And particularly the way that the same markers that are supposedly signs of Justin and Alex's totally platonic sibling bond in Wizards Of Waverly Place are used in JONAS as romantic markers, WHATEVER. SERIOUSLY, DISNEY.
AND, OKAY, BECAUSE I FIND IT AMUSING, AJOUST PUZZLE OF SORTS.
So, there are these two shows, and on both shows, there's a guy and a girl. They grew up together, and they fight a lot, but they also really love each other. One is a brother/sister pairing; the other is the Designated Canon Ship. And on both shows, the following storyline occurred. See if you can read these, and decide a) which scenario belongs to which pairing, and b) which one is shippier.
SCENARIO A: Boy meets random chick and falls instantly in love. Girl sees this and is Not Happy. Boy accuses girl of being jealous. Girl points out that boy and random chick barely know each other. Boy agrees, and stops dating random chick. Eventually, status quo is restored.
SCENARIO B: Boy meets random chick and falls instantly in love. Girl sees this and is Not Happy. Boy accuses girl of being jealous. Girl points out that boy and random chick barely know each other. Boy disagrees, and continues dating random chick in an attempt to prove girl wrong and/or make her jealous. Eventually, it all goes hilariously and disastrously wrong, and status quo is restoredwhile boy is shirtless in front of girl.
YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT.
