Sweet Charity ends in less than 24 hours, so there's still time to bid. We've raised almost £7,000 already, which is completely awesome. It's slightly less awesome than I've been outbid on all the things I wanted, but I can't wait to see what comes out of the auction, anyway!

(And don't forget to check your bids periodically, if there's something you really want; the notification emails aren't always reliable, so make sure you double check that you're still the highest bidder.)

I have TV thoughts, but they might have to wait for another post - I'm reserving judgement on Heroes, at least, until I've seen this week's episode.

From [livejournal.com profile] starxd_sparrow, who gave me Karl Agathon, Peter Petrelli, and Don Lamb (slightly spoilery for their respective shows):

I'm back from hiatus! Did y'all miss me? I was in Byron Bay for the weekend visiting my dad, which was a lot of fun, but it also means I'm totally behind on stuff that's been going on for the past few days. So, if anything totally important or exciting has happened, let me know!

Sweet Charity is open for bidding! I really, really want to buy a vid this time - it's really not in my budget (which is nonexistent), but. It's the last auction ever, and I want.

I'm offering to write fic - you can find my listing here (at the bottom of the page), and bid here; if you want more information, you can ask questions about it here.

More BSG post-finale reactions coming soon, possibly including (but not limited to) meta, picspams, and fic. I kinda miss my show already :(

The very last Sweet Charity auction is open for sign ups, which is both sad and awesome. You can sign up to be a Sweet Tart until March 27th, and the auction starts March 28th. You can see what people have already offered here; I'm listed there as Zhailei.

I'm offering to write one story of at least 2,500 words. For bids over £25, I will write at least 5,000 words, and for any bids over £50, I will write at least 10,000 words. I mainly write het, though I can also write gen, femslash, and a few slash pairings, in the following fandoms:

Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, Burn Notice, Dark Angel, Dollhouse, Farscape, Final Fantasy (X-2 and XII), Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Greek, Heroes, Legend Of The Seeker, Merlin, Miss Match, The O.C., The Office, One Tree Hill, Psych, Roswell, Sarah Connor Chronicles, She's The Man, Smallville, Stargate SG-1, Traveler, Valentine, Veronica Mars, Weeds, Wonderfalls, and Real Person Fic.

You can specify a general fandom, pairing, and/or prompt, or something more specific, as vague or as detailed as you like. AUs, crossovers, and crack!fic ideas are all welcome.

My fanfiction index can be found here. To ask abut pairings I can write, fandoms not listed, or anything else about my offer, feel free to ask in this post - comments are screened, and anonymous comments are allowed, if you don't want to reveal yourself. (Let me know if you want your comment unscreened, otherwise make sure you have email notifications turned on.)

My Sweet Charity fic is finished and posted!

Ask Me No Secrets And I'll Tell You No Lies (Stargate SG-1 - Sam/Vala - NC-17 - 2724 words) Vala isn't easy to figure out, but Sam's a quick learner. (Or, four times Sam and Vala were nearly caught, and one time they weren't.)

Established relationships aren't usually my thing, so this was interesting to write, particularly for a pairing I'd never written before. In the end, I think I'm reasonably happy with it; Sam/Vala was one of those pairings I'd thought about writing a few times but never really got around to, so I'm glad I finally did. And it means my most pressing fic deadline has been taken care of, which only leaves a couple of holiday ficathons and my long-overdue Fall Fandom Free-For-All fic that need to be finished before the end of the year. Which is totally do-able, and means I might actually have time to clear up some more overdue or half-finished fics, get a start on my birthday fics, and maybe even write something that's just for me.

Speaking of birthday fics, give me your requests here. It's my birthday-slash-holiday season gift, and gives me something fun to do for my birthday, so please ask for something!

1) My paid account expired, oh noes! I might have to think about renewing it as a birthday present to myself - I know I can't really afford it, but I really don't want to lose my icons :(

2) My birthday is in less than a week! I think I'm officially having one of those "what the hell am I doing with my life?" moments, because, yeesh. Why can't I magically know what I want to do when I grow up? (And why can't that day be very far in the future?)

3) More fic:

You And Me, We're A Front Page Story (Smallville - Clark/Lois - PG-13 - 4300 words) Top secret research. Undercover investigations. Close encounters of the physical kind. Just another day at the office. Spoilers up to episode 8:5 - Committed.

Written for [livejournal.com profile] svgurl for the [livejournal.com profile] 12days_of_clois exchange, for the prompt "Clark and Lois previously avoiding their feelings and are forced to confront it; maybe they're trapped in a small space or something?" Which I basically used as an excuse to unload a bunch of cliches, because, hey, it's Smallville. And, okay, I may have stolen the 'posing as a temp' thing from an episode of Prison Break, but it makes me happy, and Lisa Lawson was a minor recurring character on Greek, which, again. It's Smallville, it can be crack if I say it is.

4) Progress is being made on the Sweet Charity fic. Which is due on my birthday, so I really want to get it finished early so I can relax and get wasted do nothing.

5) I have another new show! You guys, if you like fantasy shows at all, you should totally go watch Legend of the Seeker. It's not quite as crack-tastic as Merlin (well, not yet - it's produced by Sam Raimi, so it's really only a matter of time), but it's pretty and awesome and kind of epic in a cheesy sort of way. It's based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels, which I've never read, but it's perfect stock fantasy fare, and I really love Richard already. And it's got shippiness, and Bruce Spence, and Jay Laga'aia (who has serious thoughts on Play School, and is made of awesome), and if you ever watched Xena or Hercules, you should definitely check it out, because it's a lot of fun.

Oh, and if you need more convincing (or even if you don't), you should definitely watch [livejournal.com profile] ladymajavader's vid I Love Rockin' Rahl, which is what convinced me to have a look at the show in the first place. Seriously shiny!

There are about twelve hours left to bid in Sweet Charity. You can find a list of all offers here (scroll down to see mine, and more details can be found here). We've raised US$6225 already, which is phenomenal - let's see how high we can get it!

1) Sweet Charity bidding has officially begun! I've offered to write fic, which you can bid on here (I'm listed as Zhailei, at the bottom of the page), or check out some of the other awesome goodies offered. For more details about what I'm offering, or if you have any questions, see here.

Unfortunately, I've already been outbid for the things I wanted, but maybe I'll get lucky and find something I can still afford. (If I'm being completely honest, I can't really afford to bid on anything, but it's for charity.)

2) Belated episode reactions for last week:

Grey's Anatomy )

Smallville )

Stargate Atlantis )

3) Finished watching Burn Notice, and I'm totally in love. I can't wait for it to come back!

4) Yes, I have started watching Prison Break. I'm still on season one (also known as the non-crack, non-Mahone season), but I'm really liking it so far. YES, I HAVE BEEN SUCKED INTO THE FANDOM. I have absolutely no willpower, okay?

Sweet Charity is on again! For those of you who would like to sign up, you have until tomorrow to do so; the charity of choice this time around is Invisible Children, so it's definitely for a good cause. I've offered to write fic, and you can find all the offers, including mine, here.

My offer, for those who may be interested:

I'm offering to write one story of at least 2500 words. I can write het, gen, and femslash, in any of the following fandoms:

Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, Beverly Hills 90210 (old or new series), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Burn Notice, Chuck, Dark Angel, Doctor Who, Farscape, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Greek, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, Miss Match, NCIS, The O.C., One Tree Hill, Psych, Roswell, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Smallville, Sports Night, Stargate SG-1, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Torchwood, Traveler, Veronica Mars, The West Wing, Wonderfalls, and Real Person Fic.

You can specify a general fandom, pairing, and/or prompt, or something more specific, as vague or as detailed as you like. AUs and crossovers are welcome.

My fanfiction index is here, and all my fics are posted to [livejournal.com profile] amidalashari. If you want to ask about specific pairings I can write, request a fandom not listed, or if you have any other questions, you can ask in this thread; comments are screened, so make sure you have email notifications turned on, or let me know if you want your comment unscreened.

The auction starts on September 29th and runs until October 4th, and there are some awesome things on offer; even if you can't sign up to create something, you should definitely take a look and consider bidding.

OMG. New Kids on the Block! I'm having (probably misplaced) nostalgia. Also, It Won't Last = The Cruel Sea, in beige. Trust me.

And yay, my Sweet Charity fics are finally posted:

Decent Days And Nights (Friday Night Lights - Jason/Tyra - PG-13 - 2634 words) Scenes from a new life (in no particular order). Spoilers up to episode 2:9 - The Confession.

Your Boyfriend Sucks (One Tree Hill RPF - Chad Michael Murray/Hilarie Burton - PG-13 - 435 words) She needs a shower, and now.

Both written for [livejournal.com profile] random00b - the FNL fic was what she commissioned me for, plus a bonus ficlet because she was so incredibly patient with me. Yes, I wrote Chad Michael Murray. I don't know, either.

Finished (and sent off) my Sweet Charity fic! The thing was absolutely kicking my ass, which is pretty much why I wrote very little last month; I couldn't seem to get my SC fic finished, and I didn't want to write anything else while I was supposed to be writing that, so I mostly ended up writing nothing. But now it's done, and I can relax - and, most importantly, start writing whatever the hell I want.

Also, I finally reposted my fic from [livejournal.com profile] fated_addiction's RPF drabble-a-thon:

Notoriety (Like It's Going Out Of Fashion) (Ed Westwick/Leighton Meester - PG-13 - 630 words) Ed's the first to have the article pinned up.

The Six Degrees Of Separation Meme:

Give me no less than two and no more than four characters from any of my fandoms, and I will write you up to six ficlets connecting them to each other somehow. (e.g.: 'Six Degrees Of Separation From Dean Winchester To Chloe Sullivan', 'Six Ways Susan Ivanova Doesn't Know She Knows John Matheson', or 'From Dana Scully To John Winchester In Six Steps Or Less'.) Obvious or not, your choice. Crossovers or not, your choice.

I'm sure you all know my fandoms by now, but if not, there's a list here.

Also, bidding for Sweet Charity is still open (my username is Zhailei) if you want to bid on me or any of the other awesome volunteers. If you're thinking about bidding on me and want to check that I can write exactly what you want, ask me here.

Sweet Charity

Bidding on the Sweet Charity auction has officially started! My username there is Zhailei, and everyone should go bid on one of the 276 awesome people who signed up. For those who may be interested, my offer is this:

I'm offering to write one story of at least 2500 words. I can write het, gen and femmeslash, in any of the fandoms listed; there are a few pairings I may not be able to write, so feel free to email me or comment on my livejournal (amathela) if you have any questions. You can specify a general pairing/prompt, or something more specific, as vague or as detailed as you like. AUs and crossovers are fine.

Fandoms: Angel the Series, Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Farscape, Firefly/Serenity, Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls, Heroes, One Tree Hill, Roswell, Smallville, Stargate Atlantis, The O.C., Veronica Mars, Wonderfalls, Real Person Fiction.

There are other fandoms I might be willing to write on request; anonymous commenting is on, and comments to this post are screened, so if you're thinking about bidding on me and want to make sure I can write the fandom and/or pairing you want, ask away. And as always, my fic is posted to [livejournal.com profile] amidalashari if you want to check out some of the other stuff I've done first.

Now I just have to get my own bid(s) in!

Sweet Charity Auction

So, I signed up for Sweet Charity, even though I'm afraid that no-one will bid on me and I'll have to live the rest of my life in shame. But it's for the WGA strike-affected people, which is something I support. Hopefully it'll be fun; I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, anyway.
