I posted four fics in February, in four fandoms; two I'd written in before (Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars), one I'd only written as part of a crossover (Gossip Girl), and one completely new fandom (Legend Of The Seeker).


Mutiny, I Promise You (Battlestar Galactica - Lee/Racetrack - R - 1653 words) Galactica's lack of privacy wasn't exactly news to Maggie. Spoilers up to episode 2:4 - Resistance.

Elevator Love Letter (Gossip Girl - Jack/Blair - NC-17 - 1335 words) She's well bred, cultured, and she has a good education. It's not that hard. Spoilers up to episode 2:15 - Gone With The Will.

Destroy Everything You Touch (Legend Of The Seeker - Richard/Kahlan - R - 1522 words) This isn't just dangerous, it's potentially catastrophic. Spoilers up to episode 1:8 - Denna.

Down Again (Veronica Mars - Lamb/Veronica - PG-13 - 29,290 words) When one of her sorority sisters is killed, Veronica's second year at Hearst promises (threatens?) to be just as exciting as her first. Sequel to What Goes Down. AU from episode 3:2 - My Big Fat Greek Rush Week; potential spoilers up to the end of season three.


As for the next few months ... well, purimgifts is due in a few days, which is awesome. And after that, I've signed up for two Big Bangs: thelittlebang (She's The Man, Olivia/Viola) and boxofmagic (Merlin, Arthur/Morgana). I know, crazy, right? But in my defense, the minimum word count for both challenges is only 15,000 words, which means I've signed up to write at least 30,000 words in three months. And since my fics posted this month add up to around 34,000 words ... I'm not really worried. I didn't take advantage of February to plot and ouline my thelittlebang fic like I planned to, so I'll have to do that over the next few days, but I'm very excited. Yay, epic rom-coms!

boxofmagic, a Merlin Big Bang, has opened sign ups. And, damn it, I didn't think I was that involved in this fandom, but I really kind of want to sign up to write an epic, cracky, Arthur/Morgana modern AU. Or an Emma style matchmaker!Morgana AU, because that idea made its way into my head while I was writing Summer In The City, and it was so much fun. Help!

So far, this year's 'writing longer fics' resolution is going really well, which apparently translates into wanting to sign up for a bunch of Big Bangs. Like, I really wish there was one for Veronica Mars, and I'm trying very hard not to talk myself into creating one. And a Battlestar Galactica Big Bang would be awesome. Damn, damn, damn ...

The minimum word count for boxofmagic is only 15,000 words (35,000 words if you want guaranteed artwork), which makes it very tempting ... I'm going to resist. I'm mostly resisting. But there are quite a few sign ups for Arthur/Morgana already, which is awesome, and I'm looking forward to reading the fic that comes out of it. But I'm not going to sign up.

TV is back on! I haven't actually started watching it yet, but there's a new Legend of the Seeker I'm very excited about. And BSG comes back in a few days ...

Summer In The City (Merlin - Arthur/Morgana - PG - 3173 words) In which there is a summer festival, Morgana indulges in a spot of matchmaking, and she and Arthur fight. A lot. Spoilers up to episode 1:8 - The Beginning Of The End. Written for breakingbeads for merlin_santa.

Are You Gonna Be My Girl (Farscape RPF - Ben Browder/Claudia Black - R - 3500 words) It's a good thing, he thinks, that John is supposed to be in love with Aeryn, or people might start asking questions. (aka. Five outfits Ben and Claudia wear, in varying degrees of ridiculousness.) Written for sugargroupie for yuletide.

Method Acting (Decipher Reflections From Reality) (One Tree Hill RPF - James Lafferty/Bethany Joy Galeotti - PG - 2694 words) Her life is measured out in almosts. (She almost took a risk, once, but it was only fiction.) Five times fiction and reality were almost the same thing. Written for sugargroupie for prettylightsfic.

So, yes, I ended up writing for the same person for Yuletide and Pretty Lights. And I could have written Ben/Claudia for both exchanges, but the Pretty Lights assignment came pretty much as I was just starting to rewatch One Tree Hill, so I decided to go for a little diversity instead. The Pretty Lights story ended up not being quite what I intended (it was supposed to be flirty and happy and fluffy, which it ended up being ... not so much), but I'm pretty happy with the way all my exchange fics turned out. And I'm very happy with what I received in return, so it was an excellent holiday ficathon season.

So I'm feeling very happily and productively fannish at the moment. Not to mention a couple of other fics I should be writing in Weeds and Skins, because I may be a lot of things, but lacking in new fandoms I am not. (OMG Tony/Effy! falseeeyelashes, I blame you and your epic OTP picspam.)

So, I'm really not sure when I'm going to have time to get around to actually watching television, but I feel like I'm okay with that.

Signed up for merlin_santa, because I am weak, or possibly crazy. I was only planning on signing up for yuletide and prettylightsfic this year, but, shiny new fandom! So, I couldn't help myself. My post is here, in case anyone wants to read it.

Also, if any Merlin fans on my flist were considering signing up, that would be really awesome. More Arthur/Morgana! This can only be a good thing. Also, it would make me feel less crazy for signing up only to write about (Arthur and) Morgana. If you don't feel like writing fic, you can also sign up to give/receive art, graphics, fanmixes, vids, or pretty much anything else you can think of.
